Ellescope’s innovative maternal health solution piloted at First 4 Health Group has just received an SBRI Healthcare phase-2 Funding Award of £500,000! This funding is a game-changer in addressing the critical health inequalities in Maternity Care within the NHS.

This marks the official launch of our MedTech venture, Ellescope – through which our maternal health innovation will be further built, scaled and prepared for market entry.

Did you know? The leading cause of direct maternal deaths is overwhelmingly owed to mental ill health or social disadvantages. Yet, there's a shocking lack of tools for comprehensively and objectively screening maternal psychosocial risks. This gap disproportionately impacts women facing social challenges.

Thanks to the Phase 1 SBRI Healthcare Award last year, we've already made strides. Our solution enabled primary care physicians at First 4 Health Group to offer continuous, low-intensity group interventions for women at various stages of motherhood, from pre-conception to postnatal.

With this new funding, we're excited to co-develop even more closely with healthcare professionals integral to a patient's maternity journey. Our goal? To deliver comprehensive, personalised maternity care, especially for those who need it most.
